Modern Knife Design & Mat'ls Update

With the addition of a new grinder last year and a few other new tools recently, I am able to branch out a bit, so I developed a few "Modern" knife designs. I am still cutting and shaping the blades by hand with 'manual' hand tools though. I seem to like the feeling I get using files to rough out the overall shape of a blade. I have also learned a few 550 paracord knot tying tricks to enhance the modern look of my new designs. I am adding G10 scales and other modern mat'ls to my list of options for future projects. I am currently working on several new designs to add to my portfolio as time permits...it's hunting season in Texas and my heater in the shop is out, so my options are new heater or Venison steaks for the new year! I'm going with the steak...for now!

MY NEWEST DESIGN: DROP-POINT CHISEL TANTO THINGY

As you can see, this design is much more modern than my previous pieces. It is made of high carbon steel, it has a drop point as well as being a modified tanto type knife. It is unique in that the other side is flat, but the body of the blade is infact trianguar. The tang is cut down the middle and wrapped with Mil-Spec 550 cord. The blade has a 'mean' Rockwell hardness of 57. Not shown is the custom Kydex sheath in black. This knife is currently serving a tour in Afghanistan with my Son-in-Law, he is a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army.
